Join us on Halloween Eve for an interactive 'who dun-it?'

For one night only, Gravitas will be transformed into a roaring '20s speakeasy. To start, our guests will enjoy prohibition-era cocktails on our rooftop Conservatory while learning more about their characters for the evening. Followed by a four-course menu from Chef Matt Baker paired with wines selected by Sommelier David Kurka, try your hand at amateur sleuthing! Throughout dinner, the most serious of crimes will unfold, hidden clues will be revealed, and our detective will help everyone try to crack the case!

Join us on August 22 for a Summer Garden Dinner at Gravitas. Chef Matt Baker has prepared a menu of dishes highlighting summertime favorites with produce from Tuscarora Organic Growers, Northern Neck Farms, Irwin Brothers Mushrooms and our very own Conservatory rooftop garden.

The evening will begin with passed canapes up at the Conservatory before we head downstairs to the main dining room for a family-style dinner. Wine, beer and cocktails will be available for order upon arrival.

Additionally, you get to hear from Advance Sommelier David Kurka, the background behind some of our favorite summer wines and why they pair so well with the dishes. Accompanying the instruction will be a three-course lunch with wine pairings.

Jermann Wine Dinner

Hosted by Felix Jermann our summer wine dinner will feature the crisp, mineral wines of the eponymous iconic Italian winery. Located in the picturesque Northern Italian region of Friuli-Venezia Gulia, Jermann has for generations led the way in quality wine. The evening will begin on our roof top garden, the ‘Conservatory,’ for canapes and the first Jermann wine of the evening. Our guests will then move to the dining room to indulge in a five-course tasting menu that Chef Baker crafted to complement the nuances for Jermann’s classic wines. Two courses will feature a three vintage vertical tasting of Jermann’s most iconic wines: their ‘Vintage Tunina’ and the ‘W… Dreams…’

Canapes on the 'Conservatory' to begin followed by Chef Baker's five-course tasting menu paired with the wines from 'Jermann'. $168 per person plus tax and gratuity. Once made, this reservation cannot be changed or cancelled. Tickets can be purchased here

Conservatory Grand Opening

Our one-year Anniversary Party & Conservatory Grand Opening Party is a free flow cocktail style event from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Included in the price of the ticket will be a whole pig roast on the Rooftop Conservatory, heavy passed canapés throughout the entire building, Chef-attended culinary action stations at the Main Dining Room Expo line and in the mezzanine will be a selection of artisanal cheese, house-made pastries, and desserts. We will also offer a complimentary tasting of wines of the Iberian Peninsula. There will be a cash bar for beer, wines, and cocktails.      

Attendance is $45 per person, plus tax and gratuity. One made, this reservation cannot be changed or canceled. Reservations can be made via Resy

Located above Gravitas in Ivy City, Washington, DC, the Conservatory is a rooftop bar and lounge, surrounded by an urban culinary garden. The Conservatory will be open for evening service and earlier on the weekends for coffee, cocktails and light bites. Food and drinks will be complementary to the Gravitas concept.
